A half-century of laying down the law in Retford for Michael

A Retford solicitor is celebrating 50 years of legal practice. A consultant for Jones & Co Solicitors in Retford[2] and former deputy district judge, Michael Browne has been on the Roll of Solicitors for a remarkable 50 years. The achievement has been acknowledged by solicitors’ body the Law Society, which has sent a certificate to Mr Browne.

Specialising in property law[4], Mr Browne qualified in 1965 and has spent all his professional life practising in Retford. A managing partner and senior partner at a long established law firm in Retford for many years, he joined Jones & Co Solicitors in 2009. Mr Browne is a chartered arbitrator and accredited mediator. He was for many years involved in the Territorial Army, for which he received a CBE (Commander of the British Empire) and achieved the senior post of brigadier.

He is currently a deputy lieutenant for Nottinghamshire[5] and chairman of the Bassetlaw Action Centre, a charity supporting elderly people in the area.
