Gideon Boy s Hostel s Green Zone Campaign

Kohima, July 28 (MExN): Gideon s Boys Hostel, Jakhama organized a Green Zone campaign on July16, where tree saplings were planted in Jakhama led by National Youth Corps member, David Zash . Stressing on the importance of environment, David stated that every citizen on earth has the responsibility to promote and protect environment. He challenged the various organisations, departments, unions etc to come out with more ideas in promoting awareness on environment. Further, David expressed his wish to see the people come out of their comfort zones and not to remain ignorant towards the declining environment quality due to global warming, stated a press release received here. The campaign was supported by Earth Friendly Generation (EFG) and Khodi Khieya Jakha town, the release added.

CRPF Raising Day celebrated in Zubza

Kohima, July 28 (MExN): 78 Bn CRPF at Zubza celebrated 77th Raising Day of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) on July 27. Homage was paid to the martyrs, while Commandant Neeraj Yadav took salute of the special guard at unit Quarter guard, a press release received here informed. In the evening, intercompany sports and games competitions were organized and the day culminated with Sangeet Sandhya (music night). The Commandant informed that initially the force was raised under British rule on July 27, 1939 at Neemuch, Madhya Pradesh, the cantonment of British Army. Since the force was raised under British rule, it was named as Crown Representative s Police . After independence, Sardar Vallaba Bhai Patel, the first Home Minister, considering the value and importance of the force and its versatility, decided not to disband the British force rather he rechristened it Central Reserve Police Force, the Commandant added. Today the CRPF is the largest paraArmyrats © military force of the world. It is extending its responsibilities all over the country and as peace keeping force with UN, abroad also, he added. The force has 241 Battalions as of date, apart from many group centres, ranges, sectors and zones in every state of the country. In Nagaland, it was added, the force is assisting civil police to extend all possible help to the Naga people.
